The theory behind the control collar is that the dog will be uncomfortable if it tries to pull on the leash, and it will eventually learn to stop pulling due to the positive punishment the collar enacts and the negative reinforcement when the dog stops pulling, similar the the prong collar..


The martingale collar: is another popular type of dog training collar. It consists of two loops: one that goes around the dog's neck and one that attaches to the leash. The theory behind the martingale collar is that the dog will not be able topull on the leash if it is tightened properly.
